Consider your existing colours as well. Warm white lighting works well with wood, neutral furniture, and many anime displays. Coloured lighting can suit a more dramatic gaming setup, though it may affect how your stream camera shows skin tones and nearby decor.

If you collect anime merchandise, decide whether you want a single focal piece or a themed display. One larger item can anchor a shelf, while smaller figures, pins, and accessories work well as part of a collection. Keep cables, heat sources, and drinks in mind when placing lighting and fabric items near your gaming gear.

A cosy room does not need a full makeover. Small changes often have the biggest effect because they shape the parts of your setup you use every day. Begin with lighting. A lamp or ambient light behind your monitor can reduce the harsh contrast between a bright screen and a dark room. Your setup should still work for gaming. Leave room for comfortable mouse movement, controller charging, drink placement, and airflow around consoles or PCs. If you use LED lighting, check where the cable will run before choosing a position. A tidy cable route helps the room feel calmer and can make cleaning easier.

Finally, choose items that mean something to you. Your favourite character, a familiar game world, or a softer place to relax can make the space feel more like home without filling every corner.
